Justin Bieber is taking fans behind the stage once again to get an inside look at his life as one of pop’s biggest stars. On Friday (Oct. 1), the “Peaches” singer unveiled a trailer of his upcoming documentary, Justin Bieber: Our World.
The teaser features both personal and directed of footage the 27-year-old as he embarks on creating his first concert performance since 2017 for a New Year’s Eve 2020 livestream at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
“I just wanted to create a night that was going to bring people together and people could just let go and enjoy themselves,” Bieber says in the trailer, which showed scenes of the performance stage being set up and footage of him interacting with his dancers. “I’m excited to get back on that stage to make people smile, make people happy.”
The trailer additionally highlights appearances from Bieber’s wife, Hailey Baldwin.
The film’s synopsis explains that the documentary will give fans a look at the happenings “backstage, onstage and into the private world” of Bieber as he prepped for the New Year’s Eve show. In attendance at the concert — which took place in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic — were 240 invited guests; millions around the world watched via livestream.
The new documentary — directed by Michael D. Ratner — follows the singer’s YouTube Originals docuseries, Justin Bieber: Seasons, which aired via the streaming platform in 2020. The singer also released a concert film to accompany his 2010 My World Tour, titled Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.
OBB Media produced the film. Producers include Ratner, Scott Ratner, Kfir Goldberg, and Andy Mininger for OBB Pictures, with Scooter Braun, Allison Kaye, Scott Manson, and Jennifer McDaniels executive producing via Scooter Braun Films. Bieber also executive produces. Co-executive producers include Jules Ferree, Nick DeMoura, Rory Kramer, Jillian Halterman, and Rick Faigin.
