From the halls of Rydell High to the Pop Songs chart, Grease Live! actor Jordan Fisher is prepping to release his debut self-titled EP with the premiere of the new single “All I Wanna Do” exclusively on Billboard.
Fisher — best known for playing Doody in Fox’s live production of Grease earlier this year — takes on R&B influences with a pop sound for “All I Wanna Do.” The single features a variation of the Mary Jane Girls’ “All Night Long” lyrics: “You got me shook up, shook down, shook out on your lovin’.”
“‘All I Wanna Do’ is a salute to early ’90s R&B that I grew up loving,” Fisher saud about the new track. “There’s something about the groove of the record and cadence of melody/lyrics that I love. Absolutely one of my favorites to perform.”
The R&B/pop singer’s “All About Us” — the first single from his upcoming EP — peaked at No. 26 on the Pop Songs chart. Fisher, who has been called Ariana Grande’s “favorite vocalist” and was featured as Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing, is scheduled to host and perform on Arthur Ashe Kids Days on Aug. 27 alongside Flo Rida, Troye Sivan, Zara Larsson and Forever in Your Mind.
“All I Wanna Do” was produced and co-written by Ryan Ogren. Fisher’s upcoming self-titled EP is due Friday, including production from Rob Persaud, Danja, Dreamlab and more.
