Lukas Graham rocked the Jimmy Kimmel Live! stage on Wednesday night (Oct. 24) with the soul-infused pop ballad “Love Someone” from the Danish pop band’s upcoming 3 (The Purple Album). The touching ballad is a love song written to frontman Lukas Forchhammer’s longtime girlfriend.
The band filled the stage bathed in golden lights as scenes from the single’s music video played on the screens behind them. The performance opened with a warm electric guitar riff and singer Forchhammer tenderly crooning, “There are days/ I wake up and I pinch myself/ You’re with me, not someone else.”
The crowd clapped along to the bluesy beat of the chorus: “‘Cause when you love someone/ You open up your heart/ When you love someone/ You make room.” While Forchhammer remained planted firmly in front of the mic stand during the whole song, the truth is that he didn’t need to move to get his point across. His dynamic vocals and emotion-filled expressions commanded the night.
3 (The Purple Album) drops Friday (Oct. 26). Watch Lukas Graham’s Kimmel performance below.
