Jack Antonoff took the rare move of responding to swirling rumors about his private life on Tuesday night (Jan. 16) when he tweeted to shoot down the whispers surrounding his dating status in the wake of his recent break-up with long-time love Girls creator Lena Dunham. “Normally I would never address rumors but i resent having the most important friendships and working relationships in my life reduced to dumb hetero normative gossip,” he wrote.
While Antonoff, 33, did not specify who the rumors surrounded, he made it clear that whoever people were talking about it was not cool with him. “Those relationships are deeply important and sacred. With that said, im not seeing anyone.”

Just days after the break-up was announced (the couple reportedly called it quits in December), Us Weekly reported that Antonoff has “moved on… as in he is seeing someone else,” an unnamed insider reportedly told the magazine.
Last week the Bleachers founder tweeted a series of updates about his state of mind following the split with Dunham, whom he dated for 5 years. He noted that he was listening to the super-sad song “Have You Forgotten” from mope rockers Red House Painters, as well as former .fun bandmate Andrew Dost’s 2009 album-length homage to Christopher Columbus, Columbus.
