In support of her new album, pop singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson has announced The Dramatic Tour. The string of North American club dates will begin Sept. 24 at 930 Club in Washington, D.C., and make stops at Vic Theatre in Chicago, The Wiltern in Los Angeles, two nights in Michaelson’s hometown of New York at Webster Hall and more.
Stranger Songs — due June 28 via Cabin 24 Records — was inspired by Netflix’s Stranger Things and will precede the show’s season 3 premiere on July 4.
“There’s something about Stranger Things that’s really comforting, it brings me back to my childhood,” Michaelson shared in a press release. “It’s the best kind of escapism and I find myself seeking that now more than ever. I took inspiration from the show and the characters and all these ideas started to come to me. Every song on the record includes a reference from the show, some more specific than others, but all of the themes are universal — these are feelings everyone has.”
“Missing You,” the album’s lead single, was released earlier this month.
