The Miley Cyrus-headlined iHeartRadio Australia Music Festival has been canned.
The event, which was scheduled to take place Oct. 18 at Sydney’s 20,000-plus capacity Allphones Arena, has been nixed after promoters said the booking of a mystery headliner fell through.
“As a consequence of the unavailability of another headline act, due to be announced this week, we have canceled the event for now,” promoters said Thursday.
Miley Cyrus To Headline First iHeartRadio Australia Music Fest
The likes of entertainer and homegrown pop star Cody Simpson, X Factor Australia judge Redfoo, Aussie pop-rock group At Sunset, Sydney-based rapper Miracle, and DJ duo The Faders were confirmed to perform at what would have been the first iHeartRadio fest Down Under.
iHeartRadio launched Down Under in late 2013 in what was the Internet radio brand’s first expansion step outside the United States. The service has since hosted live concerts for Kylie Minogue and Ed Sheeran. Dainty Group, which was partnering with Sydney radio station KIIS 1065 on the iHeartRadio Australia fest, reaffirms its production of Cyrus’ Bangerz tour is not in doubt.
