Now that ?Iggy Azalea is back on Twitter, that means she has to deal with the media reporting on what she chooses to share online.
That could be a good thing. But if history has taught us anything with the Aussie rapper, it rarely is.
This Britney Spears Tweet Has Nothing to Do With Iggy Azalea
Azalea took to the social networking site Tuesday to clarify that she and her “Pretty Girls” collaborator Britney Spears are not beefing or throwing shade, or anything of the sort.
It all follows reports yesterday of the two pop stars throwing shade back and forth: Azalea said she thought their track could have performed better had Spears been available to promote it. Two which, Spears seemed to respond off-handedly, pointing out Azalea’s canceled tour in comparison to her own successful Las Vegas residency, stepping up a little with the hashtag #YouWantAPieceOfMe.

But according to Azalea, this is all wrong and there is no beef. It’s just the media stirring things up — which doesn’t surprise her, but does make her sad. She also made broader accusations accusing the press of wanting “women in music to get out and mud wrestle each other,” without expressing true opinions.
She laid it down on Twitter:
Iam honestly not surprised but still really saddened that the media is trying to create a “beef” between @britneyspears and myself.

We remain friends and i haven’t said anything negative at all about her. Does wishing we had promoted a single more make me the bad guy?

No one is throwing “shade” or “shots” on either side of the table. The girl is my friend and i support her 100%.

i feel like the press just wants to see girls be overtly sexual to one another, and have no real opinion other than “i love it! ^.^”

Im over it. Women in music are not the same as a teen drama. Stop making us all out to be, we are business women & artists. Not mean girls.
