It turns out Sir Elton John is a big, big fan of pop-punk band Paramore. While on Beats 1 radio, the iconic singer-songwriter praised the band’s latest album, which got lead singer Hayley Williams attention, prompting her to invite him to one of her band’s shows.
“Probably one of the most underrated albums of last year. It should’ve been a huge album. They can be really proud of that album. It was a fabulous record, and if you haven’t heard it, go buy it now!” John says in the recording, tweeted out by his Rocket Hour radio show.

John was referring to After Laughter, which was released in September and is the fifth studio album from Paramore. Initially the band responded on Twitter, saying “what a feeling,” but soon Williams followed up herself, saying: “dear lord!! never actually heard this so thank you for posting [—-] (and thx @eltonofficial, pls come to a pmore show. it’s a v good time.)”

Paramore wrapped their album tour this fall, though they still have a string of performances left, including stops in the U.S., Japan and the Philippines, so it shouldn’t be too much of a stretch for the “Piano Man” to catch a show.
