In an emotional one-take shot, Halsey delivers the visual for “Sorry,” the latest song off her album Hopeless Fountain Kingdom to receive the video treatment.
The video follows the singer-songwriter as she wanders through a dystopian-esque wasteland after a presumed car wreck, with her face covered in blood as she sings of a past relationship. The song itself is distinct from the more upbeat “Bad at Love,” but the video shares a similar aesthetic in its washed out colors.
Halsey gets the directing cred for the clip, along with Sing J Lee, who she also teamed with for “Bad at Love” and “Now or Never.” The three videos seem to potentially be a linked trilogy, with Halsey chopping off her hair in “Now or Never,” going on the run and committing crime in “Bad at Love,” and ending with the car crash in the most recent “Sorry.”
