Halsey expressed her admiration for Taylor Swift and her songwriting craft via Twitter on Thursday (Feb. 28) after reading Swift’s essay in Elle UK.
Swift is on the cover of the April 2019 music issue, where she wrote about the “power of pop” and turning music into memories.
“The essay on songwriting @taylorswift13 did for @ELLEmagazine is gorgeous,” Halsey tweeted. “Being specific = your audience will trust your experience, (ex: ‘there’s no way she could have made that up…’) & no one does it better than T, who taught me this a decade ago by calling a redhead by name,” Halsey added, referencing the song “Fifteen” and Swift name-dropping her best friend Abigail.
Swift responded, tweeting, “Grinning and blushing over here. Thank you so much for reading it!!”
