Halsey stopped by the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform a stripped-down version of her newest single “Without Me,” as well as a cover of Juice WRLD’s “Lucid Dreams” on Wednesday (Nov. 7).
Accompanied by a single electric guitar, Halsey’s raw vocals were highlighted in the emotional performance.
The 24-year-old electropop singer gave fresh vulnerability to Juice WRLD’s hip-hop breakup hit. “I still see your shadows in my room,” she sang gently, “Can’t take back the love that I gave you/ It’s to the point where I love and I hate you/ But I cannot change you so I must replace you.”
Halsey similarly highlighted the purity of her own 2018 song that reflects on a toxic relationship, pouring her soul into the intimate performance.
