On Tuesday (August 7), the day after her show in Seoul, the 23-year-old singer shared two images on Twitter and Instagram, writing: “There was no way I’d come all the way to Seoul without seeing these guys.”
The pictures feature Halsey with six of BTS’ members — RM, V, Suga, Jungkook, Jimin and J-Hope, sans Jin — in a casual setting, showing their tight bond. She also wrote that she is “hella proud” of them for playing the Los Angeles Staples Center, saying that she “can’t wait to see them” perform there. The Korean group sold-out four September concerts at the Californian venue, kicking off the North American leg of their upcoming Love Yourself world tour.
Halsey later responded to a tweet about her friendship with the members of BTS, saying that they’ve been friends for two years. “I am so lucky to know them and they inspire me so much,” she tweeted.

BTS and Halsey met in May 2017 when the Korean act was in the U.S. for the Billboard Music Awards. During that year’s BBMAs, Halsey was recognized in the top Hot 100 song, top dance/electronic song, and top collaboration categories for “Closer” with The Chainsmokers, while BTS won the top social artist award. It marked the first time the septet appeared at and were recognized at a major Stateside awards show. They went on to perform at that year’s American Music Awards and took home the same award at this year’s BBMAs, where they also performed for the first time.
