Hailee Steinfeld debuted her new track “Back To Life,” from the upcoming film Bumblebee, today (Nov. 2).
On the electro-pop track, Steinfeld sings of a powerful and uniting love that “transcends through space and time.” “Back To Life” pushes Steinfeld’s soaring vocals to the forefront, layering them over an irresistible synth-heavy beat with all of the potential of a dance-floor hit. “Back To Life” gains its danceable momentum from the chorus that features a Chainsmokers-esque beat drop and infectious hook.
The song was written for the Transformers spinoff Bumblebee, which opens on Dec. 21. Steinfeld stars as Charlie Watson, a teenage girl who finds and befriends the Transformers character.
The “Starving” singer shared news of her exciting release in an Instagram post earlier this week, writing, “I can’t believe this is finally happening. This will be the first time I have a song of my own in a movie that I’ve made.”
Steinfeld will perform “Back To Life” live for the first time at the MTV EMAs on Nov. 4, which she will also be hosting.
