It may seem like ages ago that America’s Got Talent kicked off the audition process, but it was only last week that the show crowned its winning act: Grace VanderWaal. The 12-year-old singer/songwriter has become the youngest winner of AGT in ten years.
She has since celebrated her success in a variety of ways, such as signing a deal with Columbia Records, receiving a congratulatory call from none other than Jason Mraz — a moment Billboard caught on camera — and most recently, performing Wednesday (Sept. 21) on Ellen.
VanderWaal spoke with the host about what it was like to win and why people compare her to Taylor Swift. She also performed her AGT audition song, “I Don’t Know My Name.”
