Florence + the Machine are known for dazzling live performances, but their close-quarters gig at London’s Royal Festival Hall Tuesday (May 8) was taken to new heights — literally, thanks to the hall’s towering pipe organ.
Although Florence Welch‘s vocals are a powerful enough set of pipes alone, the band added a haunting layer to their 2012 hit “Shake It Out” by implementing the organ. The result was a stunning encore for their hometown crowd that’s guaranteed to raise some goosebumps.

Welch and company also performed four songs from their upcoming album High as Hope, scheduled for release June 29, from which they’ve already released two singles: the vulnerable ballad “Sky Full Of Song” and the upbeat, piano-driven “Hunger.” The latter of the two singles served as background music for a slow-motion montage video tweeted by Welch Wednesday (May 9), thanking their London fans for the “special night” after their memorable performance.
