Finneas waited for the perfect time to release his latest song, “Where the Poison Is.”
On Saturday (Nov. 7), just hours after news broke that Joe Biden had officially been elected the 46th president of the United States, the Grammy-winning brother of Billie Eilish shared his latest solo track, which takes a harsh jab at the defeated Donald Trump.
“You’re fired,” Finneas tweeted in announcing the dark song, referencing Trump’s catchphrase on his reality TV show The Apprentice.
“When all my friends get sick it’s on the president/ When all my friends get sick it’s on his government,” he sings. “Take me to the place where the poison is/ To put a face to what’s poisonous/ To give him a little taste of his medicine/ There’s a snake that thinks it’s the president.”
An accompanying YouTube visual for the song shows an illustration of the White House with black ooze seeping from its windows.
Eilish joined her brother in celebrating Trump’s defeat on Saturday by sharing a video of herself excitedly screaming and thanking everyone who voted for Biden. “This is unbelievable, I am so happy,” she said on Instagram.
