Riding high with the hit “Miss Movin’ On” under their stylish belts, the ladies of Fifth Harmony are gearing up for a debut full-length release this fall that will take on a new direction.
The former X Factor contestants spoke with Billboard’s Keith Caulfield before their performance at the Radio Disney Music Awards in Los Angeles on April 26, and said they have been working for a month straight recording a new album and fans should expect to hear a new, more urban sound.
“[The album] is totally a different direction,” said Normani Kordei Hamilton, “but as far as what we’re talking about it’s still about girl power.”
The group also teased upcoming summer tour dates that start in May that span the country and include a lengthy run with Austin Mahone.
On the subject of naming favorite girl groups, the five-piece shouted out names like Destiny’s Child, TLC, Spice Girls and Cheetah Girls. But so far as sheer enthusiasm went, members Camila Cabello and Lauren Jauregui were outspoken with their support for Haim.
“They’re the coolest girl group alive,” said Jauregui.
