Fergie stopped by the set of Bravo talk show Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Tuesday night (Sept. 26) and there was practically no limits on discussion topics: From the American Idol reboot to the Kardashians, and even a potential mash-up with Taylor Swift, the Dutchess was up for anything.
Cohen prompted Fergie with a fan-asked question, “Fergie, do you notice the similarity in the choruses between ‘My Humps’ and Taylor Swift’s ‘Look What You Made Me Do?'”
“My Humps,” of course, was one of the Black Eyed Peas biggest smash singles in 2005, while Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” recently spent three weeks at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100.
“You know what’s really interesting is that I have a song called ‘Just Like You’ that — it was the first video that I shot for this album and visual experience, Double Dutchess: Seeing Double,” Fergie responded. “The chorus is ‘Look what you made me do/ I’m crazy just like you/ I’m tainted just like you.’ So it’s funny because I’m like, ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ is right there. I almost want to make a mash-up. Rhythmically I feel like they have a little similarities. Maybe we do like a three-way mash-up.”
During the After Show, a caller — Eric from Houston — asked Fergie who she had more fun shooting videos with: Kendall Jenner or Kim Kardashian?
“Oh gosh,” Fergie said. “Well, I have to say I wasn’t on-set with Kendall. We FaceTimed during it, and I wanted her to do her thing and she rocked it. Give it up for Kendall for finding her inner pop star, rock star. She’s like a little Parisian girl. She looked amazing. She was giving major cool girl to the screen. I was loving that. But Kim I had more fun with on-set, to be literal, because we were actually on-set.”
Jenner and Kardashian both appear in music on Double Dutchess. Jenner is the star in the music video for “Enchanté (Carine),” while Kardashian starred in “M.I.L.F. $.”
When asked by Cohen if she was approached to judge on ABC’s reboot of American Idol, Fergie first acted like she thought the question was directed at Empire star Jussie Smollett, who was appearing on the show with her. Then, she semi-successfully danced around the question. “Uh,” she stuttered. “Me no speak English. I don’t know.”
Fergie’s sophomore solo album Double Dutchess is available now.
