Harry Styles has everyone experimenting in his “Watermelon Sugar” hit factory, so other singers came up with some pretty tasty covers. But whose recipe is the best?
K-pop star and Mamamoo member Hwasa donned a watermelon pink cardigan for her summery song choice, recreating that summer feelin’ right in her apartment with a beach ball and a few slices of watermelon to munch on. But 88rising artist Josh Pan cooled off with a blue-toned visual from the end of June, while virtual blue-hued watermelons floated around him as he performed an electrifying low-fi cover.
Blake Richardson of the British pop trio New Hope Club had fans commenting on how similar he sounds to Styles in his take on “Watermelon Sugar,” which he also mashed up with a cover of former One Directioner Niall Horan‘s “Nice to Meet Ya.” Pop singer José Audisio has been on a roll for his covers, and his acoustic version of the Billboard Hot 100 No. 7 hit in his vintage-style clip is *chef’s kiss. Singer-songwriter Alice Kristiansen shared similar acoustic ingredients for her angelic rendition she shared earlier in January.
