This week’s roster of new music releases gave us reasons to dance and cry, but as Drake instructed with his Lil Durk-assisted single, “Laugh Now Cry Later.”
On the heels of her breakup with Cody Simpson, Miley Cyrus walks with her head held high on her own in “Midnight Sky,” the first single she released ahead of her upcoming She is Miley Cyrus album. “I was born to run, I don’t belong to anyone, oh no/ I don’t need to be loved by you,” she sings confidently in the chorus of the electrifying pop confection.
Dua Lipa also gave music lovers another twinkling dancefloor jam with The Blessed Madonna remix of “Levitating,” featuring Madonna and Missy Elliott. She snuggles up with her sugar boo Anwar Hadid in the accompanying visual, where the moon’s light is so potent it’s worth stealing.
But back to the crying: John Legend made us shed tears of joy for him and his family when Chrissy Teigen revealed they’re expecting baby No. 3 in the ultra-romantic music video for “Wild,” featuring Gary Clark Jr. Another tear-jerking fact: Nabil Elderkin directed the swoon-worthy, cinematic clip, 14 years after he first introduced the famous couple on the set of the Grammy-winning R&B singer’s “Stereo” visual where Teigen first played his love interest.
