You know the saying, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”? That does not apply to Ed Sheeran, who has successfully landed at No. 1 on the Hot 100 by transforming his hit single “Perfect” into a duet with Beyoncé and now has decided to remix the song yet again — this time with world-renowned classical artist Andrea Bocelli.
Nobody is complaining.
Sheeran posted a photo walking beside Bocelli to Instagram early this morning (Dec. 12). “Orchestral version of Perfect with the amazing @andreabocelliofficial comes out friday,” the U.K. pop star captioned. “Orchestrated and produced by my super talented brother Matt, little gift for you all before Christmas. Hope you love it as much as I do. I sing in Italian too which is fun x”
Time out: Did Sheeran just casually toss in there that he’s going to be singing in Italian? The English native has already sung in Spanish (“Barcelona”) and Twi (“Bibia Be Ye Ye”), was recently honored with an MBE at Buckingham Palace, and is hoping to soon become a New Zealand citizen — needless to say, he’s literally taking over the world.
