Rising pop singer Eben just spent the last two months touring the country with Why Don’t We, and just before that, he spent time riding around in a mini Lamborghini. While that may sound a bit strange, for Eben it was a dream come true.
“I’ve always wanted to ride around in my own mini Lamborghini!” he tells Billboard.
Eben’s pint-sized joyride was the premise of the video for his dreamy new single, “Lambo,” which the singer released in February. As he sings the synthed-out chorus, “I’d rather cry in a Lambo/ Be depressed at the chateau/ Live on my parent’s bankroll/ I’d rather cry, rather cry, rather cry, rather cry in a Lambo,” Eben finds himself in the middle of a (mini) car chase with kid cops after riding away in a tyke’s Lamborghini — resulting in a full-on showdown by the end.
The video’s concept is as silly as the song’s cheeky lyrics, something that resulted in a pretty hilarious filming experience. “My legs and arms were sticking out of the car, and it had everyone laughing on set,” Eben says. “I couldn’t keep a straight face when the kid cops were chasing me. This video was incredibly fun and I enjoyed working with everyone!”
Eben wanted to give fans a better feel for just how fun the video was to make with some behind-the-scenes footage, premiering on Billboard today (May 2). Along with the clip, Eben has another reveal that will make international fans go crazy: He’ll be continuing his run with Why Don’t We when the Invitation Tour goes overseas for a European leg.
