The year of 2018 was a troubling one for Demi Lovato, but the pop singer has a positive outlook for the new year. Lovato shared a message on social media on New Year’s Eve, showing gratitude for what she’s discovered during her journey to recovery.
“So grateful for the lessons I’ve learned this year,” she wrote in a message posted as an Instagram story on Monday (Dec. 31). “I will never take another day in life for granted, even the bad ones. Thankful for my fans, friends, family and everyone who supported me throughout this year. God bless.”
Lovato was hospitalized following an overdose in July.
Just before Christmas, she provided an update to fans on Twitter: “I am sober and grateful to be alive and taking care of ME…I would love to set the record straight on all the rumors out there but I literally don’t owe anyone anything so I’m not going to. All my fans need to know is I’m working hard on myself, I’m happy and clean and I’m SO grateful for their support.”
