Taylor Swift has been taking some heat lately: Several critics didn’t care for “Welcome to New York,” and the singer had to defend her songwriting process — which sometimes draws on experiences from relationships — during an interview in Australia. Demi Lovato came to a Swift defense in a conversation with ET Canada, saying “Don’t f–k with me if you’re going to say women suck.”
Lovato continued, “[Swift’s] one person that I feel like, one of the few people I’ve maintained a friendship with in this industry.”
1989, Swift’s latest album, comes out next week. Lovato is currently finishing up a tour of North America.
