Coldplay has used the platform of Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show” to dish out some new music.
On a set that featured dozens of dangling paper stars, the British four-piece brought some star-power of their own with a performance of the sombre, atmospheric “Always In My Head”, which featured vocal samples of frontman Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter Apple. The band also performed the single “Magic.”
The two songs will appear on the upcoming new studio album “Ghost Stories,” which gets a global release on May 19.

Coldplay is in the midst of a high-profile promo trek in the U.S., which has included slots on “SNL” and a date at the Beacon Theatre.

As previously reported, Coldplay is also getting an NBC special. Following Martin’s well-received three-episode stint on “The Voice,” the outfit will tout “Ghost Stories” in a one-hour broadcast slated to air on May 18 at 7 p.m. ET/PT, the day before the album officially drops.
“Ghost Stories” is Coldplay’s sixth album, and the band’s first since 2011’s “Mylo Xyloto”.
