Today (June 15), Christina Aguilera‘s Liberation finally arrived. To celebrate the release of her eighth studio album, Xtina delivered a soaring early morning set on the Today plaza for the Citi Concert series that proved her vocals need no waking up.
The pop star performed the Demi Lovato-featuring “Fall In Line” from her latest LP, but gave longtime fans some throwback surprises with renditions of Stripped tracks “Can’t Hold Us Down” and “Fighter” — the latter of which she dedicated dedicated to “all my fighters out there who have been loyal after all these years.”
In the middle of the performance, Aguilera also gave a brief interview during which she said she can’t wait to get back to touring. “The last time I was on tour I was pregnant with my son, and that was 10 years ago,” she told the Today hosts. “Mama’s got to get back to what I do best!”
