After a seemingly amicable split and joint announcement from Cheryl Cole and Liam Payne on Sunday, it looked like the news of this pop breakup would continue to be peaceful, especially for the sake of their son Bear. That is, until Cheryl’s mom became the focal point.
After several U.K. tabloids came out declaring that Cole’s mother, Joan, was to blame for the split, the pop star was understandably upset over her mom being dragged into it by the media. In a statement posted to Twitter, she wrote, “I hate responding to stuff [especially] at such difficult times but i cannot sit here and listen to such nasty, false articles regarding my mam. I don’t know why they involve her in stories about me. I can assure you she has absolutely nothing to do with any of it.”
