Chelsea Culter has unveiled her latest single, “You Are Losing Me.”
On the empowering anthem (written and produced entirely by Cutler), the pop singer details walking away from an old flame who didn’t recognize her worth. “You’re gonna wish that/ I wasn’t lovin’ someone new/ You’re gonna wish that/ I was sleeping next to you/ You’re gonna wish that/ You never broke my heart in two/ Yeah, you weren’t losing me/ When I already lost you,” she croons on the track’s chorus over sparkling production and booming, percussive beats.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Cutler opened up about the inspiration behind the song and how it helped reignite her passion for music. “I know that changing my mindset and learning to love my career again will not happen overnight,” she told fans. “But i feel so liberated by this new freedom i have to fall back in love with music. putting out this song feels like a good first step.”
The new song follows the rising talent’s previous single “How To Be Human” as well as “Brent” her collaborative live EP with Jeremy Zucker. Next month, Cutler will be hitting the road as the opening act for the European leg of Lauv’s How I’m Feeling Tour.
