After years of releasing massive electronic anthems, Cash Cash finally broke through last year with the crossover hit “Take Me Home,” featuring Bebe Rexha. The EDM group is returning next year with an as-yet-untitled new album, and Billboard.com has its electric first single — listen to the exclusive stream of Cash Cash’s “Surrender” below:
The Big Beat Records group is using “Surrender” to follow “Take Me Home,” which peaked at No. 57 on the Hot 100 chart and No. 6 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, as well as the single “Lightning,” which featured Goo Goo Dolls’ John Rzeznik. The New York-based production trio will officially release “Surrender” on Sept. 16.
Cash Cash Talks Growing Up, Dishes on Hit ‘Take Me Home’
“Working on this song brought out a lot of incredible emotions,” says JP Makhlouf, who forms Cash Cash with Alex Makhlouf and Samuel Frisch. “Surrendering is usually seen as something negative or a sign of defeat, but this song shows a different side of things. Sometimes it’s the fight that kills you. Sometimes you don’t even know what you’re fighting for. Sometimes surrendering can set you free!”
The official music video for “Surrender” will be released in October, and before that, Cash Cash will perform on the main stage at the TomorrowWorld festival in Georgia. The group’s full tour dates are below:
