Like a choir singing hallelujah! Camila Cabello stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday (Dec. 6) to chat about her romance with Shawn Mendes, her new album Romance and more.
After host Ellen DeGeneres played a clip of Cabello and her pop star boyfriend performing on the show back in 2016, the former Fifth Harmony member admitted her feeling for Mendes went back years. “I for sure had a crush there,” she dished. “We were stupid. I think we both a crush but we were, like, I don’t know, being babies about it but, uh…we’re grown now!”
Cabello also opened up about the pair’s steamy performance of “Señorita” at the 2019 American Music Awards, and explained why she dodged a kiss with her beau at the end of the song. “We kissed during [rehearsal] ’cause we always, we practice it,” she revealed, “and then I kiss him ’cause I kiss him, but then on stage it just feels weird ’cause I know that people are expecting it so then I’m like, ‘I don’t wanna’…so then that’s why I hit him with my nose.”
During her visit to Ellen, Cabello also performed her latest Romance-era single “Living Proof,” complete with backing by gospel choir clad in silky pink robes.
