BTS and Coldplay‘s collaboration “My Universe” has topped this week’s new music poll.
Music fans voted in a poll published Friday (Sept. 24) on Billboard, choosing the team-up between the K-pop group and British rock band as their favorite new music release of the past week.
“My Universe” brought in 86% of the vote, beating out new music by G-Eazy (These Things Happen Too), Karol G (“Sejodioto”), Giveon (“For Tonight”), YoungBoy Never Broke Again (Sincerely, Kentrell), and others.
Sung in both English and Korean, “My Universe” is the second single after “Higher Power” released ahead of Coldplay’s upcoming album, Music of the Spheres. The Max Martin-produced album is scheduled for release on Oct. 15. Music of the Spheres is the follow-up to Coldplay’s 2019 double album, Everyday Life, which led the Official U.K. Albums chart and peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200.
On Sunday (Sept. 26), BTS and Coldplay released a 13-minute documentary on YouTube giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of “My Universe.” Coldplay’s label Parlophone previously announced that the Supernova 7 Mix and acoustic version of the song will be available at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday. The official music video, directed by Dave Meyers, will be “coming soon,” according to Parlophone’s update.
Placing second on the past week’s tally with 6% of the vote was G-Eazy’s fourth album, These Things Happen Too, the Bay Area rapper’s sequel to 2014’s These Things Happen, which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
