French-born songwriter Broken Back tells the story of his journey from Paris to Saint-Malo in his song “The Happiest Man on Earth.” The upbeat track, featured on his Dear Misfortune, Mother of Joy EP, matches the video’s tone, both silly and thoughtful with a sunny disposition. In this one-man journey, the video’s protagonist crosses paths with characters who span life’s spectrum — from bodybuilding men to fighting frat boys.
In and out of these contrasting scenes, the character peddles through it all on his little red tricycle (yeah, this really happens). Sporting a space suit and an exhilarated grin, he rides into the sunset with a fist in the air. Watch the premiere via Billboard below. ?
