Britney Spears wanted to make her second night at New York’s Radio City Music Hall a memorable one by bringing out a fellow celebrity — but she seemingly couldn’t remember who it was.
During her song “Freakshow” Tuesday night (July 24), Spears made Watch What Happens Live! host Andy Cohen her “victim” for the now-famous S&M portion of the show. He was certainly living his best life, grinning from ear to ear as he crawled around the stage in bondage, eventually being whipped and walked on a leash by Britney herself.
Of all the times things could’ve gotten weird during the raunchy routine, the awkward moment didn’t come until Spears had to acknowledge her guest. “I think you all know who this is,” Britney exclaims, following up with, “Give it up for him!”
Cohen was unfazed by Britney’s apparent name mishap, bowing down to the pop icon and thanking her for bringing him on stage as she signed a shirt for him to take home. And even the morning after, Cohen still didn’t care that Britney Spears seemingly doesn’t have any clue who he is.
“My take on this is, first of all, why would Britney know my name? She’s Britney, bitch,” Cohen said on his SiriusXM show Andy Cohen Live Wednesday morning. “I have no expectation — it’s why I have no expectation that Madonna should ever know who I am. I am a mortal, and Britney is Britney. I like that she said, ‘I think you know who this is, give it up for him.’ I mean, it’s pretty funny, right?”
He also revealed that Britney didn’t actually sign the shirt she gave him, but that didn’t matter either. “She gave me what I want, I don’t need for Britney to even really know who I am,” he declared. “Britney is such an icon, I just feel like I’m not worthy of her knowing my name.”
