Beyonce‘s 2015 Met Gala dress found new life last weekend with one St. Louis high school senior recreating the look for her prom.
India Ross stepped out as a mini Queen Bey for the event with a high ponytail and all, after hiring a dressmaker to reproduce the bejeweled Givenchy Haute Couture gown.
“When I gave my designer my money, I said, ‘Can you make me feel like I’m Beyonce?’ And that’s what she did,” Ross told Cosmopolitan.
Ross told US Weekly the dress cost her $800 and used 2,000 “hand-placed crystals.” It should come as little surprise Ross is looking to get into fashion, having committed to Columbia College of Chicago with plans to double major in business and fashion merchandising with a minor in public relations and marketing.
“I really love Beyonce,” she told Cosmopolitan. “I watch a lot of fashion shows and ever since I saw her outfit at the Met Gala, I just knew that I was going to wear that to prom. It was see-through and I loved all of the diamonds and crystals. Everything about the outfit just caught my attention.”
