It seems that Canadian pop-rock queen Avril Lavigne is finally ready to make her comeback. After teasing her new single on Twitter on Aug. 18 — sharing behind-the-scenes pictures from a video shoot as well as hints about a possible release date — the “Complicated” singer followed up with the rumors on Wednesday (Sept. 4) posting a mysterious photo.
The snap finds Lavigne striking a pose underwater in a flowy white dress, hinting a first glimpse of a new video. The theme appears to be rebirth, which would fit in with the clues she has been dropping as well as the current status of the singer’s career.

“That’s a wrap after 7 days of shooting,” the singer captioned a series of Instagram pictures. “[Director Elliott Lester], you’re brilliant and insane and I love you. Thank you for going above and beyond and seeing my vision and bringing it to life. I’ve been planning this video for over two years. I’m so passionate about this record, and my first video that will relay my story. Thank you to the crew and everyone on Team Lavigne for busting your butts to make this all come together.”
The Canadian star has been chipping away at album number six for some time, and when asked what to expect from the new record back in January, she teased, “This record is a true emotional journey. Personal, dear, intimate, dramatic, raw, powerful, strong and unexpected.”
