“Sk8er Bois” and girls have reason to celebrate this week. Avril Lavigne has treated fans to yet another hint at upcoming tunes, and it appears album number six is quickly approaching. The “Girlfriend” singer shared a black-and-white photo on her Instagram Thursday (Apr. 12) of herself with an acoustic guitar in one hand and a scribbling pen in the other, sporting a beanie in true Lavigne fashion. Captioning the pic “Homestretch Bitches,” Lavigne hinted the project may not be too far away.
Lavigne has already given clues as to what fans can expect of her upcoming release. The Ontario native mentioned last year she might be returning to her “church” and “country” roots as her music career progresses. Last September, she eased the minds of antsy fans by tweeting that new music will “be here before you know it.”
Since releasing her grunge-pop debut Let Go in 2002, Lavigne has scored herself five Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. LP 6 will mark the singer’s first album since her 2013 self-titled.
