Last summer, Austin Mahone headlined a teen-friendly North American tour that boasted Fifth Harmony, Shawn Mendes and the Vamps as opening acts. Since that trek, Fifth Harmony has released its debut album Reflection, scored its first Top 20 hit with “Worth It” and is now set to embark upon a headlining tour of its own — and Mahone couldn’t be happier for his 5H pals.
“They’re very successful, and they’ve done very well,” Mahone told Billboard of Fifth Harmony during a recent interview. “The tour that we had was a really good time. We did a lot of shows [together].”
Fifth Harmony’s Reflection tour kicks off in earnest on July 15, and Mahone thinks that Dinah, Normani, Lauren, Camila and Ally will leave their audiences extremely satisfied. “I’m excited for them,” he continued. “They’ve got a lot going on, and all of it’s good.”
Meanwhile, Mahone has a lot going on himself: a new single, “Dirty Work,” was released last week, as a preview of a full-length follow-up to last year’s The Secret EP. “I’m not sure if the album is definitely coming out in the fall, but it will be out before the end of the year,” Mahone said. “After the album drops, I’ll definitely be putting a tour together. I’m excited to get back on the road.”
