The release date for Ariana Grande‘s new album Sweetener is fast approaching, but that’s not stopping the singer from making some last-minute changes. One of those changes includes shifting the title of the album track “Pete” to the full name of her fiancé: “Pete Davidson.”
On Monday (July 30), a fan tweeted at the singer about the switch, asking, “What made you change ‘Pete’ to ‘Pete Davidson’?” The pop star responded, “I like the way it looks. I love his name and I love him. Music lasts forever. It’ll outlive any tattoo, any memory, any anything, even myself so I want my love for him and how I feel to be a part of that.”
Grande and Davidson have been the subject of an enormous amount of media attention since their whirlwind romance began in May and they became engaged earlier this month. Sweetener arrives on August 17.
