The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon wasn’t the only talk show taken over by Ariana Grande Tuesday night (May 1). During her episode-long feature, Grande also portrayed a shallow socialite alter ego, Cassandra, on a satirical bit entitled “NBD,” during which she hilariously discussed things that were “no big deal.”
Along with host Fallon’s flamboyant counterpart, Casey, the pair spent the segment one-upping each other with high-profile situations, simultaneously playing them off as casual occurrences.
“On my last flight to Paris, I got upgraded to first class,” Fallon’s character bragged. “I used points from my Jet Blue Jet Black Platinum Silver Bronze Copper MasterCard. It’s made out of real copper. It bends when you sit on it. No big deal.”
“I actually go to Paris every other weekend,” Grande’s character quipped back. “I pet sit for Katy Perry. It’s named Kitty Purry. Get it? I did. No big deal.”
Throughout the side-splitting bit, Grande and Fallon also jokingly detailed hot-button topics like attending Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding, opening a goat yoga studio — named “Yogoat,” of course — and Kentucky Derby hats designed by Elon Musk.
“NBD” first aired on The Tonight Show in October 2017, with Miley Cyrus portraying Cassie.
