Ariana Grande is gearing up for the launch of the Sweetener World Tour, but she took a breather during rehearsal to sing a time-honored classic that just so happens to feature some of the highest high-notes ever hit.
The pop star shared a clip filmed during her tour rehearsals on Friday (Feb. 22) that featured her dancers and entourage stepping and swaying in the background while she crooned through Minnie Riperton’s 1975 smash, “Lovin’ You.”
(Fun fact: Riperton penned the tune for her then-baby daughter Maya Rudolph.)
“Lovin’ You” is known for its cloud-grazing whistle tone, and Grande’s multi-octave range was absolutely up for the challenge of scaling Riperton’s legendary register.
The Sweetener World Tour kicks off in Albany, N.Y. on March 18.
