How does it feel when you get to sing a Grammy Hall of Fame song from your #1 movie with one of your all-time favorite singers? Just ask Ariana Grande today (Sept. 27) because she’s over the moon after the release of her duet with Kristin Chenoweth on the 1963 Lesley Gore song “You Don’t Own Me,” which, of course, plays a pivotal role in Ari’s movie obsession, First Wives Club.
“i have always loved you and i always will @kchenoweth congratulations on your new album and thank you from the bottom of my heart for having me be a part!,” Grande tweeted about her inclusion on Chenoweth’s For the Girls album. “i truly can’t put into words how much it means to me ! i truly can’t believe this is even real.”
You are my baby and i love you. I couldn’t be more proud of you. Thank you for blessing the works with your gift. And for being on my record. I love you very much. https://t.co/JLcxXB4z3l

Grande, who famously restaged the First Wives scene on Ellen last year, goes toe-to-toe with Emmy- and Tony-winning Broadway legend Chenoweth on the lush cover of “Own Me,” adding her high harmonies to Chenoweth’s powerhouse vocals on the string-drenched cover. Chenoweth also duets with Dolly Parton and Jennifer Hudson and Reba McEntire on the 12-track album.
