It’s been a busy few days for classical singer Andrea Bocelli. The musical veteran accepted the Classic BRITs Icon Award for his illustrious career on Wednesday and followed that up with the surprise live debut of “Perfect Symphony,” his collaboration with Ed Sheeran on Thursday. Bocelli has now announced his musical return with Si, his first album of all-new material in 14 years, out on October 26.
Si honors the simple things in life like family, love and faith, according a press release announcing the album. In a video announcement, Bocelli appears with his wife and children to discuss the “new pop album with many, many beautiful songs.” He also spoke on the power of saying “yes” in the statement. “In this historical period we are going through right now, we too often say no. But yes is the word you say when you have your first kiss, when you agree with somebody, when want to make someone feel good,” he said.
“Sì is the word you say every time things will end well. For a thousand and one reasons, sì is the expression of a positive, powerful, human word and feeling and emotion.”
Bocelli released the album’s lead single “If Only” on Friday (June 15) in three languages: English, Spanish and Italian. He will also perform the new track on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday. This live television performance follows his appearance with Ed Sheeran at Wembley Stadium to sing the Italian version of Sheeran’s single “Perfect.”
