The ladies of Fifth Harmony never cease to amaze. Like an Avengers-style squad made up of members with vastly different super powers, each time they step out on their own the core four do the unexpected. Case in point: on Wednesday night (Jan . 24) Ally Brooke took the stage in her home town of San Antonio to join famed opera tenor Placido Domingo‘s sold-out show at the Lila Cockrell Theater as part of the city’s Tricentennial celebration.
Backed by a 64-person concert orchestra, the dynamic duo performed the beloved Consuelo Velazquez classic “Besame Mucho,” with Brooke — dressed in a flowing white ball gown — easily holding her own alongside the legendary 77 year-old opera icon as they took turns singing the song’s swaying Spanish-language lyrics about wanting an abundance of kisses.
According to MySanAntonio, Brooke also took a solo turn on a cover Selena’s “No Me Queda Mas.” Before the show, Brooke was just a little excited about the gig.
Tonight, I take the stage alongside Mr. @PlacidoDomingo in my sensational hometown of San Antonio. It is my highest honor, and such a dream come true! I will take in every single moment, and cherish it. This is truly a beautiful blessing from God. ——I am forever thankful.
