Alex Aiono released the single “Does It Feel Like Falling” (featuring Trinidad Cardona) two weeks ago, but on Friday (Sept. 29) he finally gave fans a video to go with the bumping track. The EDM bop already has a lyric video that paints a picture of ocean scenery as he asks a lover, “When I’m with you, does it feel like falling?”
“We shot the video over two days during the most intense heatwave in L.A. in years,” Aiono tells Billboard about the official clip. “It was over 100 degrees both days, which I think gave the video this steamy intensity about it, at a house party, doing donuts in a car — that was dope! — abandoned building street fire. And the narrative was more about hooking up with that girl that’s a part of your inner-circle and there’s tension there and the chemistry just lights up.”
In the video, Aiono joins a few friends at a co-ed pool party that’s already in session. He begins flirting with one girl in particular, while his other friends light a piñata on fire and shave an unsuspecting guy’s head while he sleeps. Eventually, Aiono and his lady friend decide to leave and go drive around on their own before the group rejoins them at the beach.
He adds: “It was fun having Trinidad on the record and at the shoot. He’s from Arizona like me so we vibed on set and he’s coming out to tour on my headline tour in 2018. I think the vibe in the video is gonna be a lot like the vibe at the shows!”
