Adele may have missed the Grammys on Sunday night (Jan. 28), but she was the talk of social media just a couple days after. The “Hello” singer took to Twitter and Instagram donning a full-on Dolly Parton costume Tuesday morning (Jan. 30), gushing over the country music legend in a tweet expressing that Parton is one of her biggest heroes.
“The effortless queen of song, Dolly Parton! We love you! We wish We could possess an ounce of your ability. You were the hero of our night! A hero of my life. I’ll always love you x,” she tweeted.
Although Adele’s reasoning for dressing as Dolly was a bit unclear, it didn’t take long for Parton to respond to Adele’s loving message. “And I will always love you!” Parton commented on the pop singer’s Instagram post, along with three hearts.
Parton expressed her love for Adele in a 2016 interview with Digital Spy, saying that she “would love to do something with her.” The feeling is clearly mutual, and fans are stoked about the interaction, so time will only tell if a Dolly/Adele collaboration is in the cards.
