UPDATE: On Thursday (Aug. 18) Adele tweeted that the Arizona gig has been rescheduled for Nov. 21 at the same venue and that tickets for the original show will be honored on the new date.
Adele has canceled her scheduled show in Phoenix on Wed. (Aug. 17) due to illness. The singer announced the news with a video explanation on social media.
The show was to be Adele’s second in a row in Phoenix. This weekend she is scheduled to perform two more shows in Los Angeles before carrying on to the Midwest and East Coast.
In her video, Adele said apologized greatly and promised to reschedule the performance.
“I’ve had a cold for a couple days and I’ve been pushing through it,” she said. “I did my show last night and I loved it but I pushed too hard and my cold has gotten the better of me and as you can hear even if I did the show it wouldn’t be very good…. I‘ve enjoyed my tour so much and canceling shows is not something I‘ve wanted to do and I’ve pushed through a lot of things, but I’ve been trying to sing all morning and warming up but nothing’s really happening.”
