Adam Levine has been pretty clear about whether he will ever return to one of the big red chairs on The Voice. But just in case you didn’t get the message, on Monday during an Instagram Story Q&A with fans one of them put it to him like this: “Come back to ‘The Voice‘?” And, for the record, Levine did not stutter when answering “No thank you?”
The Maroon 5 singer explained to Ellen DeGeneres last year that he missed his decade-long run on the show, but he had a good run and that’s that. “I really do miss it,” he told DeGeneres. “I love the people that I met and worked with, and you all obviously know how i feel about [fellow coach] Blake [Shelton]. … I do miss it but I don’t miss how much I had to work. I was constantly working for so many years — very lucky, very fortunate, very blessed and all that — but to just be able to stop in this moment to spend time with my new young family and just have the greatest time ever. Now I’m a stay-at-home dad. I just stay at home and do very little.”
Levine left the show in 2019 after 16 seasons and though his on-screen chemistry with Shelton was one of the defining aspects of the show, just because he’s been off set for more than a year don’t think he’s going to stop teasing his country compatriot. “Blake who?” Levine said when another fan asked if he missed Shelton. He doubled down when someone asked him to name which one of Shelton’s albums was his favorite, according to US Weekly. “Who is this Blake you speak of?” Levine responded.
Also on Monday, Levine, 41, was the latest celeb to take part in the Instagram “post a pic of” challenge to take another sneaky poke at Shelton when he was asked “how did it feel to be the sexiest man alive back in those days?” Levine, who won the People magazine honor in 2013 said it was “totally silly but flattering.”
In a follow-up, a fan asked about whether, “blake also being the sexiest man alive was a People’s downgrade,” in reference to Shelton’ crowning in 2017, Levine offered up a “100” emoji.
