Zion.T and Crush joined forces and released their hotly anticipated project album, aptly titled Young, along with a music video for its lead single “Just.”
The song has been picking up steam rapidly, conquering various domestic charts thanks to the combination of Amoeba Culture’s 25-year-old R&B polymath and 23-year-old vocal gem.
The collaboration is a melancholic, silky-smooth jam that somberly expresses a young man’s delicate vulnerability, mixed emotions and forced indifference towards a breakup via the duo’s understated vocal delivery. Accompanied by jazz pianist Yoon Seok Chul’s contribution to the minimal production, Zion.T opens this piano-driven track with his eccentric vocals, “If you’re saying hi because I look down / Don’t worry about hurting my feelings and just pass me by.” Meanwhile, Crush adds depth through his shadowy croons and even handles a rap verse.
The music video is an artistic yet simple visual that creates an ethereal atmosphere and feeling of abandonment through scenes of falling white snow, a solo male dancer and the artists in isolated buildings.
The duo’s ambitious offering comes after Gaeko of Dynamic Duo and Yankie’s duet “Cheers,” as the latest chapter in Amoeba Culture’s ongoing project called “NOWorkend.” After promoting in Korea, Zion.T and Crush will hold their first-ever stateside tour as parts of the upcoming 2015 Amoeba Culture Tour along with labelmates Dynamic Duo and Primary. The trek will hit Atlanta and New York on March 27 and 28, respectively.
