Ziggy Marley is premiering the symbolic and animated music video for his single “Butterflies” exclusively on Billboard. The video, produced by Tuff Gong Worldwide, is a collaboration between MarcPaperScissor Studios and C3 Motion Graphics that brings Marley’s track to life.

The video takes us on a journey — relying heavily on the creative imagery through the simplicity of animation. In each scene, it reveals real-life issues the world is dealing with, such as corruption, politics and war. However, these problems then transform into visions of butterflies — a subtle metaphor Marley is trying to create that the world can change.
“Like caterpillars evolve into butterflies, this song is about the knowledge that we too can evolve into our true form, one that changes the tone of our world because right now we are still in the caterpillar stage… and we need to be butterflies,” Marley explains.
“Only love will win the war/ We can be butterflies,” Marley sings in the chorus.
The video ends with swarms of butterflies piecing together an image of a globe as it keeps revolving.

In addition, Marley released, “Live at KCRW”, including “Butterflies” and the production, “Exodus 40, The Movement Continues” — a companion piece to his father’s (Bob Marley) iconic album that celebrates its’ 40th anniversary.
