Island Records has promoted Ziggy Chareton to senior vice president, head of A&R, the company announced Wednesday (Feb. 6). Chareton will remain based in New York and report to the label’s president, Darcus Beese.
In this new role, Chareton will oversee all A&R activities at the label alongside Beese.
“The lifeblood of a record company is its artist roster and the team of A&R executives who help develop their careers and the flow of new music,” said Beese in a statement. “It is crystal clear that Ziggy embraces the best qualities of A&R, a 24/7 dedication to artist development and music foremost among them.”
Chareton has served as Island’s vice president, A&R, since 2017, and played a key role in Shawn Mendes‘ worldwide success. He has also worked with James TW, Jack & Jack and others.
He started his career in 2007 working for Eric Wong, now Island’s chief operating officer, and has gone on to be included on Billboard’s 40 Under 40 list in 2017.
